As with any medical procedure, there are risks involved with the use of dermal fillers. Most side effects reported in clinical trials and post- market surveillance occur shortly after injection and go away within a few weeks. In some cases, side effects may emerge weeks, months, or years later.

Common risks include:

Bruising
Redness
Swelling
Pain
Tenderness
Itching
Rash
Difficulty in performing activities (Only observed when injected into the back of the hand).

People should be tested for allergies before receiving dermal fillers made with certain materials, especially materials derived from animals such as Collagen.

Unintended Injection into blood vessels:

The most serious risk associated with dermal fillers is an accidental injection into a blood vessel. Filler that enters a blood vessel can cause skin necrosis (death of tissue), stroke, or blindness. While the chances of this happening are low, if it does happen, the resulting complications can be serious and may be permanent.

Removing Dermal Fillers:

If you want to have fillers removed or reduced because of a side effect, you may need additional procedures to reduce the filler or surgery to remove it. The procedure carries their own risks. Be aware that it may be difficult or impossible to remove some filler material.

كما هو الحال مع أي اجراء طبي، هناك أخطار متعلقة باستخدام الغرسات الجلدية. معظم الأثار الجانبية التي تم الإبلاغ عنها في التجارب السريرية ومراقبة ما بعد التسويق تحدث بعد وقت قصير من الحقن وتختفي في غضون بضعة أسابيع في بعض الحالات، قد تظهر الأثار الجانبية بعد اسابيع أو أشهر أو سنوات.

تورم
ألم
حساسية الحكة طفح جلدي
صعوبة في أداء الأنشطة ( لا تتم ملاحظتها إلا عند حقنها في الجزء الخلفي من اليد).

يجب إجراء اختبار الحساسية للأشخاص قبل استخدام الغرسات الجلدية المصنوعة من مواد معينة، وخاصة المواد المشتقة من الحيوانات، مثل الكولاجين.

أخطار أقل شيوعا":

نتوءات مرتفعة داخل الجلد أو تحته ( عقيدات أو حبيبات)
عدوى
الجروح المفتوحة أو النازفة
قرحة في مكان الحقن
رد فعل تحسسي
نخر ( موت الأنسجة)

المخاطر النادرة:

هجرة ( انتقال الغرسة من موقع الحقن الأصلي)

الحقن غير المقصود في الأوعية الدموية :

ان أخطر المخاطر المرتبطة بالغرسات الجلدية هو الحقن العرضي في الأوعية الدموية يمكن ان تسبب الغرسة التي تدخل الأوعية الدموية في نخر الجلد ( موت الأنسجة)، أو السكتة الدماغية، أو العمى.

في حين ان فرص حدوث ذلك منخفضة ، إذا حدث ذلك، فإن المضاعفات الناتجة يمكن ان تكون خطيرة وقد تكون دائمة.

إزالة الغرسات الجلدية:

إذا كنت ترغب في إزالة الغرسات أو تقليلها بسبب الأثار الجانبية، فقد تحتاج إلى إجراءات إضافية لتقليل الغرسة أو إجراء عملية جراحية لإزالتها.

هذه الإجراءات تحمل مخاطرها الخاصة. أنتبه الى انه قد يكون من الصعب أو المستحيل إزالة بعض الغرسات.
